FLIP FLOP DROP

This blog is dedicated to the random act of kindness to "drop your flops" somewhere that a passerby will notice and adopt. All you need to do is alter or embellish a pair of flip flops, tag them with links to this blog, drop them off somewhere in public and watch the magic happen! This is an ongoing project that will bring lots of smiles and joy to young and old!

Another drop

These were left yesterday at Captain Ed's River Roost in Merritt Island.  Anyone find them?

Also, a pair was found in Cocoa Village - anyone know who dropped them?  Now I'm off to decorate a red, White & Blue pair for the fourth.

More Flops dropped

This first one is child sized.  So it was left on the climbing wall at the playground at Kelly Park east.

The other one, I call it "Big Button" was left on a dock at the same park.

As I was leaving the other pair, I observed a couple taking their morning walk.  After the tag was read, one Flip Flop tried on, they carried them off.  I hope they bring pleasure to the finders, and that they will pass on a pair to someone.,

Flip Flop memories from the heart

here is a Flip Flop story from Rebecca Brooks that will warm your heart and inspire you to "drop" along with us!

"my favorite memory of flip flops..
was the year my mother and i filled bags and bags with every punchy colourful pair on sale after summer and bundled them off with us on a trip to oaxaca.we could hardly wait to sit at zocalo in the ancient shade of those stone arches. wait for all the children to come with their baskets of roses and comical skeletons for dia de los muertos hoping to collect pesos for their wares. most of the children are barefoot, in old hand me down clothes, holding hands and looking out for each other.
it did not take long for them to arrive in mass as we began sizing up feet with shoes.
such joy on the faces of those children. shrieks of happiness and unabashed delight to have NEW colourful flip flops!

those are the children we help with our shrine project. those are the moments we fold in our hearts forever."

And I dropped mine

First at the Merritt Island Library

Then at a WalMart bus stop

And at a park with this bird watching.  Maybe he needs a new pair of flips?  They look about his size.

And the fourth pair among the corn at my favorite local produce stand.
